User Settings

Credentials and preferences can be defined from the User Settings page. Click on your username on the top right box, then on “User Settings”:

On the “User Settings”, you can modify your password as well as generate and revoke Api keys.

Generate an API Key

API keys are used to authenticate with Step when accessing the Step API, whether through direct REST calls, the Step client, or the CLI.

To generate an API Key:

• Click on your username on the top right box
• Click “User Settings”:
• Click “Generate new key”

• Optionally set the desired life time and click “Generate new key”

Preferences

It is possible to define user specific preferences under the user account settings as custom key/value pair. See below for the currently supported preferences :

• tables_itemsperpage : define the default number of items to be displayed in all sections containing a table (Plans, Keywords, Parameters, Executions etc…)
• execution_tree_max_nodes : define the maximal number of nodes to be displayed for each node in the execution tree of an Execution warning: increasing this number beyond the default of 1000 may cause performance issues depending on the resources available on the client-side computer accessing Step
